SCPP - (Circumferential piston pump)
SCPP circumferential piston pump
Comprehensive circumferential piston pump range
The Alfa Laval SCPP range consists of two positive displacement pump ranges designed especially for transporting low viscosity products at higher discharge pressures. While rotary lobe pumps remain the preferred positive displacement solution, the SCPP is a solid choice for applications where circumferential piston pumps have been widely used in the past.
The broad range meets a wide spectrum of requirements under various working pressures:
SCPP 1 is a robustly designed model that is well-suited for strip-clean applications. It has 14 displacements, capacities up to 450 USGPM (102 m3/h) and differential pressure to 400 psi (28 bar).
SCPP 2 features enhanced CIP options, making it better suited for Cleaning–In-Place. It has 11 displacements, capacities up to 310 USGPM (70 m3/h) and differential pressures up to 500 psi (34 bar).
Handles challenging suction conditions
The SCPP pumps feature large inlet and outlet ports, which help reduce pressure losses as products enter the pump. These features, combined with circumferential piston pump technology results in reduced net positive suction head required (NPSHr). This significantly reduces the risk of cavitation and subsequent pump damage.
Higher efficiencies on low viscosities
Close clearances between rotor and rotorcase reduce slip when pumping low viscosity liquids at higher discharge pressures. This improves volumetric efficiency on low viscosity liquids and helps reduce flow rate variance under variable backpressures.
Seal options
For greater flexibility, the SCPP range gives you a wide range of options to enable you to choose the right seal for your particular application.
For the SCPP 1, choose from a single O-ring, double O-ring with flush, single mechanical seal or double mechanical seal with flush, which are available in various materials. The O-ring seal is particularly suited for applications where pumps are frequently disassembled for manual cleaning. The O-ring seal also enables quick removal of the rotorcase and reduces the risk of damage during disassembly.
The SCPP 2 offers two seal types: a single mechanical seal or double mechanical seal with flush, which are available in various materials.
Rotor options
The SCPP pump comes with twin-wing rotors in a non-galling alloy material as standard, which are suitable for most pump applications. If the product to be pumped contains large solids, a single-wing rotor is available as an option.
Warranty
Alfa Laval provides a one-year warranty for all non-wearing parts, provided genuine parts are used.

Solid C UltraPure - (Standard Centrifugal Pump)
SolidC UltraPure
Standardized and affordable
The SolidC UltraPure is a standardized centrifugal pump design that is ideal for use in duties such as Cleaning In Place (CIP) and intermittent product pumping. It is the prime choice for installations where the combination of hygiene and purchase price is the key criterion.
Easy to keep clean
SolidC UltraPure centrifugal pumps are designed with features that ensure consistent performance as well as eliminating any risk of contamination. In-depth process knowledge has resulted in a design that avoids any crevices in which contamination might accumulate or bacterial growth can build up. This makes the SolidC quick and easy to clean, saving time, cleaning agents and consumption of high-purity water.
Just like the premium LKH UltraPure, the SolidC UltraPure features an external shaft seal and a semi-open impeller with balance holes. Together with a crevice-free design, these are three key features in ensuring end-product quality.

MR UltraPure - (Liquid Ring and CIC Return Pump)
MR UltraPure
Proven performance
The MR UltraPure is a reliable, low-maintenance self-priming liquid ring pump specifically designed for transferring liquids that contain air or other gases or for use as a CIP return pump for the complete removal of fluid from tanks. Surfaces, drainage capabilities and materials are optimized and documented to match the high demands of the biopharm industry.
The MR pump is also available in a standard version suitable for general food and beverage applications etc.
High cleanability
Crevice-free design and smooth surfaces prevent bacterial build-up and simplify cleaning. The external shaft seal also secures maximum cleanability by placing difficult-to-clean parts on the outside of the pump. This saves time and reduces consumption of cleaning agents and high-purity water.
Safe, non-reactive materials
The materials used in the MR UltraPure have been carefully selected to secure high product integrity and to minimize the risks of reactive materials. Materials made of steel are fully traceable in accordance with the EN10204 3.1 standard. Elastomers comply with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements and are tested and certified in accordance with USP Class VI section 87 and 88. In addition, all elastomers are traceable by compound identification number. The external shaft seal ensures that wear particles from the shaft seal are directed by centrifugal force to the outside and thus do not come into contact with the medicinal product. This attention to detail provides full control, minimizes risks during maintenance and facilitates change control procedures.
Low and easy maintenance
With few wear parts, the external shaft seal is designed for high performance and low maintenance. The centrifugal forces press the liquid to the shaft seal area which provides good cooling and lubrication and prolongs the service life of the seal. The stationary seal ring is solidly affixed to the back plate, providing perfectly aligned seal surfaces even after long periods of operation and potential pressure shocks or vibration in the system. The true front-loaded design ensures that the seal can be quickly and easily replaced.
Total peace of mind with complete documentation for validation
All equipment and components in the Alfa Laval BioPharm portfolio are supplied with Alfa Laval Q-doc, a comprehensive documentation package that provides full transparency of the entire supply chain, from raw material to final equipment delivery. This smoothes purchasing and installation procedures as well as facilitates qualification, validation and change control procedures. Based on GDP (Good Documentation Practice), Alfa Laval Q-doc covers every aspect of BioPharm equipment supply and provides customers with transparent and well-documented quality assurance of the sourced equipment.
The Q-doc package for MR UltraPure comprises equipment manuals, performance tests, quality and manufacturing procedures, material certificates, traceability of product wetted parts and the necessary parts and service information. This attention to detail maximizes uptime and minimizes risk.
Supply and delivery
MR UltraPure liquid ring pumps are available in four different sizes with capacities up to 80 m3/h and pressures up to 5.3 bars. All standard components are kept in stock to shorten lead times and prevent unplanned downtime. Standard pumps can be supplied within one week.
Warranty
Alfa Laval provides a three-year warranty for all non-wearing parts, provided genuine parts are used.
